How to be Motivated Properly

Most of us are being motivated by the idea of proving ourselves. But is there anything wrong with it? How to be motivated properly?

I have learned that when this is the anchor of your motivation then this may also trigger anger, fear, and discontent. If this is the anchor of the motivation it simply means, it is associated with negativity.

When that time comes, your self will auto correct as it will move away from anger, fear, and discontent. But remember, as it is associated with your goal then for your self to auto correct, it will self-sabotage by moving away from your goal (e.g. money and health).

How to Name Your Business and Domain Name

Here are the lessons I learned on how to name your business and domain name:

  1. Do not use your name
This is for the purposes of selling your business in the future. It will also be of help to get more client if you will follow the number 2 tip.
  2. Convey your value
It will be easy for potential clients and returning clients to remember and refer your business if it describes the value it provides

When you are about to get a domain name for your business. Here are the tips:

  1. Dot Com
Always try to the dot com.
  2. Simple and easy
Avoid confusing names. For example, words that are hard to spell.
  3. Get the secondary domains
For example, .net, .org, .info, .me, . tv, .us
  4. Just start it
Company names and domain names picking should not held you back. The best way to do is offer the best quality product and service. Coca-Cola seems to be not a good name but look at its brand right now.

Secrets to Success from Gary Vee and Tai Lopez Interview

I just watch the interview by Tai Lopez with Gary Vee. Here are the big ideas that I have curated:

Awareness
Identify the difference between “we hope who we are” and “who we really are”. It is about identifying your strength and weaknesses. This practice will be of help to you if you will be authentic in truly knowing yourself and double down on your strengths.

Execution
The real talk is that it is not just about the idea. It is about those who take action. It is all about execution. There will be good ideas and maybe you have taught that there were billion dollar opportunity that you have taught of before but the reward goes to those who execute, who hire the time, who wrote the code and started making the idea a reality.

How to Renew Yourself

Our gadgets and softwares always have an update but when was the last time we had our update or renewed ourselves?

Here are the simple steps to renew ourselves to get the best version we wanted:

Be aware

It all starts with awareness by being open and honest to where and who we are right now. Approach this with authenticity.

Truly, what it is

Identify what you truly want. Practice the 7 deep why exercise. Examine what you wanted by following up with 7 whys. For example, “I want to have 10% body fat”. Ask “why”, let say your answer is “ I want to be fit”. Keep on asking at least a minimum of 7 whys. Again, approach this with authenticity so you can cancel the noise of external expectations. Is it the one you truly wanted or you were just pressured by the feeling that you might look bad for other people.

These should go hand and hand. First identify where you are right now so you can identify what you need to make the gap smaller until you reach your 2.0 version.

How to close the gap?

Have a habit that will bring you to the 2.0 version you wanted. In our example, if you want to lower the body fat percentage then have a habit of regular exercise.

How to Have Stronger Will Power

I am on the 8th day of my 100 day challenge of creating content every day. One of the reasons that I started this challenge is to have stronger will power.

It is really hard to make our will stronger. When was the last time you said you will have a healthy diet? How many days did you stick to that healthy diet? How many times you said to yourself that you will start saving and will not spend impulsively? If you have made it, then congratulations. If not, here are the tips to make things happen even if your will is weak.

1. Make things automatic

I have automated my budgeting so that I don’t have to rely on my will to save money. I can also spend guiltlessly because the automated budgeting allowed me to have access to my disposable money.

2. Associate with the right people

We human beings tend to fit in. Our will is weaker than our association. So associate with people who is better than you.

PS: Our will is free, so use it wisely 🙂

I have a special gift for you, claim it HERE.

We learned that we should work hard but growing up our society is telling that working not too hard but getting more result is cool and awesome.

With that, these are two things that we should be aware of:

  1. Working smart alone is not enough, you still need to work hard on smarter ways.
  2. Working hard is not enough, you still need to look for smarter ways and work hard on it.

Okay, it looks like I am insane with these points but what we should have is the mindset of “why not both”. You don’t need to pick one.

Do not focus on the idea that you have inborn talents or gifts. You do not have to rely on talents alone. Keep hustling and working hard. Do not have a fixed mindset, always be open for learning.

Nowadays, there are observations that Millenials are getting entitled and on the other side, prior generations are not much open for recommendations. It can be more explained and be addressed in the book that I have read which I can recommend to you, the book Mindset: New Psychology of Success.

I am on my 7th day of creating daily content and it is getting harder and harder to commit. If so happen that you have taken something from this post, you may subscribe and be updated by clicking HERE.

Talk to Strangers

A few years ago, I was about to look for another company to work for. Then one day, I received a job offer from a big multinational company and on that same day I was invited by a start up company to attend a seminar in the evening.

I attended that seminar and while waiting before the seminar to start, I seated in a vacant chair with a guy seated beside. I initiated a conversation with him and we found some common ground. After some stories shared with each other, I learned from him a job vacancy that totally fit my qualifications, have better opportunities and I just submitted my resume. And yes, to cut the story short, I was hired in that company.

Why you need to talk to strangers?

Growing up, we were told not to talk to strangers, but now that we are grown up it is an opportunity to learn an to build a network by talking to strangers.

How to talk to other people:

There will always be something to learn from other people. That is why it is always better to ask questions and listen most of the time rather than talking too much. The person who asks the questions controls the conversation. Plus, you can build more rapport and influence more when you let other people talk more because it is a way of showing your genuine interest to them.

Rule of thumb:

The other people should be speaking twice as much as you speak. You will be surprised at what you will learn and people that they can introduce to you.

Exact Steps to Persuade and Influence

Here are some of the steps you can use to sell, persuade and influence other people:

  1. Start a conversation
Ask an opening question. It may be direct or indirect to your main objective. You may ask about the traffic or the weather.
  2. Interest
Talk and ask questions about their interests. Show it genuinely by listening more than you talk. Always shut up after you ask questions or after sharing certain ideas.
  3. Shift
Transition to your main objective by asking questions that lead to that.
  4. Pitch
When you pitch, identify and highlight their problem or their interests. And follow it up with pivot questions. It is like a question making them realize something.
  5. Open
Open the door for the agreement. Let them feel that they are in control.

No one has ever won in this Game

Always, there is someone better than you. Comparing yourself to other people is the game that no one has ever won. Let other people be your inspiration and not a competitor. If they can show you that they are better then it only shows you that sky is the limit. There is always room for improvement. If they can do it, you can do it as well. Just compete with the man in the mirror. Compete with yourself.

I believe in continuous learning. So learn every day so that you will be a better version of yesterday. At a certain age, we will stop growing physically so the only way to grow is to learn. It is not about getting the things that we want but it is about being the person who deserves the goals you are to achieve.

I am now on my 4th day of the 100-day challenge to create content. Truly, this challenge is a giver’s gain. It pushes me beyond my excuses to look for new wisdom and learnings so I can share something every day. The more I share, the more I learn and I am truly loving the process.

The Most Expensive School

The most expensive school is learning from your own mistakes. Okay, on my last post, I told that we should not be afraid of having mistakes. I still stand to that. We still need to be action-oriented and we should be avoiding the paralysis caused by too much analysis.

Take it this way. Do not learn everything before you start. Just begin with an end in mind. When it is clear to you what is the end goal, you will realize that there will be many different means or way to achieve that. To achieve it faster, seek lessons from experiences of others, especially from their mistakes.

The human exists for hundreds of thousands of years, and even more, it is highly probable that someone has been to the situations that you are about to get into in achieving your goals. Here are the things you can do to avoid the mistake of focusing only on learning from own experiences:

  1. Seek Mentor
I have been to different fields in my profession and I have noticed that those who are truly successful are always willing to share. You just need to listen.
  2. Read Biographies
It is inspiring to learn that other human beings have achieved so much than what we have accomplished. Look for people that have the result that you wanted. Follow them. Read their life stories and be inspired.
  3. Associate Yourself
Engage yourself to the activities or events that will bring you closer to those people that have the result that you want to have. People always tend to fit in and by immersing yourself with them, you will be adjusting yourself with less effort and without you knowing.
