Here are some of the steps you can use to sell, persuade and influence other people:
- Start a conversation
Ask an opening question. It may be direct or indirect to your main objective. You may ask about the traffic or the weather. - Interest
Talk and ask questions about their interests. Show it genuinely by listening more than you talk. Always shut up after you ask questions or after sharing certain ideas. - Shift
Transition to your main objective by asking questions that lead to that. - Pitch
When you pitch, identify and highlight their problem or their interests. And follow it up with pivot questions. It is like a question making them realize something. - Open
Open the door for the agreement. Let them feel that they are in control.
